This Policy explains what information I collect from you, how it’s used, and with whom it may be shared. I care about your privacy and do not sell or rent your information to anyone, but there are other ways I may share your information, so please read this carefully.

Information you provide directly

Mailing list or newsletter

If you sign up for my mailing list and to receive my Newsletter, I collect and store your email address, and your name, if you provide it. I do not collect any other information from you other than what you directly provide. I use your email address to communicate with you and to share news about my latest books, any upcoming appearances, exciting news like great reviews or awards, and the occasional recipe. If you choose not to receive such emails, you are given the opportunity to opt out or change your preferences. If you opt out, your email address is promptly removed from my mailing list. 

Contact Form

If you contact me using the Contact Form, I receive your email address, and your name, if you provide it. I may retain the message you send (especially if it’s really nice). I use this information to reply to your questions or requests. 

 

By signing up for my Newsletter or contacting me using the Contact Form, you are consenting to this Privacy Policy and giving me permission to process your personal information specifically for the purposes identified. You may withdraw your consent at any time by unsubscribing from my email list, or by contacting me using the Contact Form. Your personal information will be deleted. 

Social Media

Social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Goodreads, Pinterest, Google+, and LinkedIn may share your information with me when you Like, Tweet, Share, or Follow. The information shared depends on your privacy settings on these and other social media sites.

Third Party Applications

My website utilizes Third Party applications like the ones I use for my Newsletter and Contact Form. These Third Parties may use your information to provide their services both to you and me. 

Third Party Websites

From my website you can link to online retailers like Amazon, Audible, B&N, Kobo, and iBooks. This list is not exhaustive. There may be other future online retailers and websites added. My Privacy Policy does not apply to these Third Party websites or services. Any browsing and interaction on Third Party websites is subject to that Third Party’s own privacy policies. 

Analytics Information

This is a techie way of saying website traffic information. Google provides tools and services to help me measure website traffic and usage trends. The Google Analytics tool collects information sent by your browser or mobile device, including the pages you visit and other information that assists me in improving the information I provide my readers. This information is collected in aggregate form so that it cannot reasonably be manipulated to identify you. 

Required by law

In the unlikely event I receive a subpoena or search warrant, I may share your information as necessary to comply with the law and the reasonable requests of law enforcement. 

Children’s Privacy

I do not knowingly collect or solicit information from anyone under the age of 13 or knowingly allow such individuals to sign up for my Newsletter or contact me. My books and the content of my website are not directed at children under the age of 13. In the event that I learn I have collected personal information from a child under age 13 without verification of parental consent, I will promptly delete that information. 

Cookies

Any use of cookies or other tracking tools by Third Party applications serve to identify you and remember your preferences in order to provide you a better website browsing experience.
