His hands glided back up her arms. “Say my name,” he muttered against her lips, as he slipped the straps of her dress from her shoulders.

“Luke,” she whispered against his mouth.

“Again.” “Luke.”

And it was the most beautiful thing he’d ever heard.

Six Sentence Sunday – March 24

Here’s another six from Rescuing Lacey, where things between Luke and Lacey heat up.

She waded back through the water with purpose, splashing him in her haste. Wrapping her arms around his neck, she drew his mouth down to hers, pressing her body to the length of his.

Stunned at first, Luke did nothing. When her tongue brushed his lower lip, he groaned, grabbing her hips and pulling her even closer, lifting her to her toes. The swell of the surf pushed her into him in a deeply primal rhythm. Her hands found the waistband of his shorts and she slid her fingers beneath to caress the warm skin beneath.

“Like what you see, Hancock?” she asked, startling him and arresting his lurid fantasy.

Busted. He flashed a chagrinned smile and felt the heat creep up his cheeks at her observation of his frank appraisal. He considered his response. He could make a wise crack, deflect his embarrassment. Or he could take the direct approach.
