In honor of this special occasion, I’ve selected six sentences from a scene in The Promise of Change with Sarah and Admiral George Stovall Edwards, U.S. Navy, Retired, a.k.a. Daddy. The often no nonsense, always loveable, and sometimes sentimental Admiral is giving his daughter a piece of advice.
“Oh, Daddy.” Sarah leaned over and kissed his weathered cheek. “I love you.”
He cleared the tears from his throat, giving her a gruff “I love you” in return. “While you’ve always been cautious, you’ve never been afraid. Don’t let fear of the unknown get in the way of your dreams.”
